Monday Mischief - It Wasn't a Chew Toy?

You saw how handsome and happy Toby is on the trail in his green hiking panniers. He's been training for his 100 mile hike in May. In fact on Saturday Toby carried 4 days worth of his food on a 4 1/2 miler. We went to Northwest River Park. There were a lot of swampy spots and in some places we had to splash through mud puddles.

When we got home Ted put Toby's panniers - sans food- on the deck to dry. Some time in the next hour Toby dragged his panniers into the yard. Can you see what he did?

If you look closely you can see that he snipped the webbing where his chest pad buckles in.

Both layers of webbing. Almost looks like it was done with scissors, doesn't it?
Oddly enough this is what he does when he gets hold of one of my bras - one strap scissored in just one place. Why?

It's a mystery. But major mischief.
(Note: Ted was NOT amused.)

Hmm, Toby, good mischief - way to sabotage the pack so you don't have to carry it. I suspect they will just get it fixed though.

Pack was rubbing? Nice try to get out of carrying it, but I think they'll get you another one.

Yes indeed, plans are already under way!

Hopefully we won't have to spend money on another, just on a repair.

Our old pal Princess had teeth like scissors, too - perfect for underpants mischief!

100 miles on the Appalachian Trail - 10 days of backpacking. I hasten to add that it will be Ted, Toby and Kevin on this adventure...that's a little too much adventure for me!

That is mischief...Wonder what Toby was thinking? Definitely want to hear more about this 100 mile hike you've got planned so we'll be back...

Well that is mysterious. He looks super cute in the pack, too bad he had to go and do that to it!

That is real talent. But Toby, pal, you are going to need that pack for your hiking supplies. Best not to chew too much. :)

100 miles? Wow! I once had a dog who chewed off the thumb of every right handed glove he got ahold of. Only the thumb. Only right handed gloves. Another of life's mysteries :-)

For now Ted "Ducked" it together. I don't know if that's going to work though :(

Now that is good advice Toby. I hope you are listening to your friends!!!
